Our History

-
2002 Beginning - Tim Armes, after the sale of Jobs.com to Monster.com, took over a nursing job board named NursesLounge.com. He then launched a direct mail monthly magazine sent to 35k RNs in the DFW market. The magazine was 100% supported by nurse recruitment ads placed by local hospitals. The magazine quickly expanded to other markets including Houston and Chicago.
-
2010 Launch of a Professional Network for Nurses -With the growing success of Linkedin Nurses Lounge re-launched the website as a Professional Network for Nurses by uniting the Nurse and major Stakeholders (Schools, Associations and Hospitals) on to a single platform. Nurses Lounge stopped printing the magazine in 2011.
-
2020 New Technology and a Complete Rebuild - NursesLounge.com was launched utilizing various 3rd party software platforms. After numerous iterations of the network and the inability to move forward on 3rd party platforms, the network was rebuilt beginning shortly after the pandemic started and relaunched as a totally new proprietary network in March 2022. After one year over 180 BSN Nursing schools decided to participate on the network with more joining each week.
-
2024 National Float Pool Launch - Nurses Lounge begins the national launch of a nursing Float Pool created to provide nursing professionals a more flexible work/life balance through-out each stage of their career while ending the staffing agency’s costly grip on today’s healthcare industry. Nurses Lounge will accomplish this by providing healthcare facilities the technology to connect directly with this curated pool of trusted nursing professionals available to directly accept open shifts at local healthcare facilities. All for a flat monthly subscription fee.
-
Today, Nurses Lounge is adding nurses and stakeholders daily as we move forward as a fully functional career marketplace for nurses.
